- Ryan’s portrait of internationally known wildlife artist/naturalist Robert Bateman was gifted to Mr. Bateman in 2013 and was subsequently featured on the inside flyleaf of The Annual Robert Bateman Calendar, 2014. Mr. Bateman’s portrait was enlarged with Ryan’s permission and is on permanent display at The Robert Bateman Gallery of Nature (former the Bateman Centre) in Victoria, B.C.
- Ryan’s original works, "Autumn Chill", “End of Summer" and “Stoned In” , purchased by Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum for its permanent collection. Ryan’s submissions have often been selected for BIA’s traveling exhibitions at museums around the United States.
- The Massachusetts Cultural Council’s 2020 Artist Fellowships Program selected Ryan to receive a Finalist Award in the Drawing and Printmaking Category.
- 2014 Recipient of the “Blink” Award from Art Design Consultants’ Art Comes Alive Exhibition, Cincinnati, OH
- 2014 Recipient of “The Mrs. John Newington Award for Excellence” from The Hudson Valley Art Association’s 82nd Annual Juried Exhibit
- Special Merit Award from lightspacetime’s 2013 Figurative Art Exhibition
- 2013 Received “Illustrator of the Year” and “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Art Design Consultants’ Art Comes Alive Exhibition, Cincinnati, Ohio
- 2001 - First time recipient of the Society of Animal Artists Evelyn and Peter Haller’s Distinguished Young Artist Award
- Ryan’s original entries were chosen for the 1998 and 2005 Massachusetts Primitive Arms and Archery Stamp

- Ryan’s (SOLD) original “End of Summer”, was featured in “Avian Art Takes Flight” in the September/October 2018 Issue of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine.
- Ryan was profiled in a feature article entitled “Miracle Man”, written by M. R. James (Founder) in the November/December 2018 Issue of Bowhunter Magazine.
- Ryan’s original “March” was featured on the June 2015 issue of “Go Brushless”, the magazine of The Pencil Art Society, along with an interview with Ryan and several artists by PAS Vice President Erica Lindsay Walker.
- Dirt Rag, a magazine for dirt bike enthusiasts, featured an original work, “Just Add Rider”, created specifically for the magazine by Ryan. The original of “Just Add Rider” was auctioned off to raise funds for (Metro D.C.) Trails for Youth, a Non-Profit organization which mentors at risk youth and provides opportunities for them to experience the outdoors through activities such as mountain biking, hiking and kayaking. A print of the original was gifted by Trails for Youth to Sally Jewel when she was CEO of Recreational Equipment Incorporated (REI) and another print hands at the EPA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
- 2015 Named “Artist of Note” in a feature article, March issue of Southwest Art Magazine
- Ryan’s original illustrations were figured on numerous covers of “POLITY”, The Journal of the Northeastern Political Science Association.
- Ryan’s original and commission art is regularly advertised in (Massachusetts and Connecticut) Reminder Publications, Go Local, Outlook and Savvy as well as The Sturbridge Times.
